fsrisk.org aims at bringing together the world-wide risk professional communities by using the moment technology which breaks most of the barriers and borders, the internet.

In the beginning, the focus will lay on the Publicly Available Operational Risk External Losses data collection tool, named ELMA, as an anchor for building a strong community, with further potential enlargement of the horizon.

fsrisk.org is built and administered by a risk professional with experience within many financial institutions from European Union during the last 25 years.

Use of ELMA is free of charge and the access to the data stored inside is open for anyone who signed up as an user and recorded/contributed with at least one publicly available operational risk incident.

Motto

The motto -Think Before Taking the Risk- has two main components that shall be read intercorrelated: "think" and "risk", which are connected through the verb "taking".

With the help of ELMA (External Losses Media Awareness), we, the contributors to ELMA, try to support each other whenever needed to take a decision of any nature of the following: invest or disinvest in one company, launch or cease one product or process, improve or relax the controls for a product or process, and eventually compare our company's magnitude of the risk against the peers' risk history. ELMA simply supports all above decision patterns through providing us with a world wide database of incidents, which exposed in the past various companies at a certain amount of risk. This is the so-called "Lesson Learned" from the experiences of others.
